Patented Erlund log wall
Because the internal log wall is thicker and tighter than panelled external wall any moisture breaths out naturally through the thinner panelled external wall. The wall breaths no vapour barrier (i.e. plastic) is needed in the wall construction. Because it breaths, vapour cannot condense on the wall structure so there is no risk of mould, rot or decay. Thanks to the external insulation and cladding the internal log walls are not exposed to the harmful effects of different kinds of weather or temperature differences inside and outside the house. Their moisture content will not be affected by heavy rain so all the log walls, partition and external are subject to the same humidity and thermal conditions. This guarantees even settling of all the log walls so the roof will always rest optimally on the walls and ridge beam.
